Whether you're using a plunger, filter machine, or espresso pot, small details like grind size, water temperature, and brew time make all the difference in achieving a balanced, flavourful cup. Follow these simple guidelines to enjoy the Golden Cup every time.

Brewing the Perfect Cup of Coffee

  • Use one heaped tablespoon (10g to 14g) of freshly roasted ground coffee. The correct grind is essential for each brewing method:
    • Coarse grind for a plunger (French press).
    • Medium grind for a filter machine or espresso pot.
    • Fine grind for a domestic electric espresso machine.
  • Water Ratio: Per 200ml (small cup) of coffee.
  • Water Temperature: Use fresh water, heated to just off the boil (85°C)
  • Brew Time:
    • Plunger/Filter Machine – Allow 3–4 minutes per 200ml cup.
